Christmas in the midst of COVID-19

2020 has been a challenging year for the entire world. The COVID-19 pandemic has tragically taken many lives and affected even more livelihoods.

Yet, Pastor Jung Myung Seok still behooves us to give even more thanksgiving and glory to the Trinity. Surely that is difficult – if we have lost loved ones, jobs, friendships… but that is truly what it means to “give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

Yes, the road ahead is still uncertain, like walking through the mist. Even with news of the vaccines, there are news of the mutating variants of COVID-19 as well. The winter cold in the northern hemisphere brings about better conditions for the disease to thrive – making it a bittersweet white Christmas.

But what problem can be too big for our God? Instead, let us give thanks and glory, and God will surely hear our earnest prayers. Today, as we celebrate Christmas, may we remember that Jesus our Messiah was born in the midst of cruel hardships – the threat of death and without a proper place to be born. Yet, he overcame all and brought salvation to all mankind. We too will surely be victorious if we remember the true meaning of Christmas.

The Winter Beauty of Wolmyeong Dong

“Wolmyeong Dong’s wintry beauty is a sight to behold – pure, magical, and awe-inspiring.”

The cold harsh winter brings about a scene of wonderment. Wolmyeong Dong‘s wintry beauty is a sight to behold – pure, magical, and awe-inspiring. God reveals his majesty and glory through the flurry of snow and ice, and the biting cold where only the bravest souls will endure. One such person was Pastor Joshua Jung Myung Seok.

Pastor Joshua Jung grew up in Womyeong Dong, his hometown, enduring this cold while making himself and this place into a masterpiece of God. Today, he stands as an example that anyone – with God’s protection and love – can overcome the winter of their lives and make themselves into a pure, magical and awe-inspiring masterpiece that no one can deny.

The sun quickly sets in winter, and Wolmyeong Dong freezes deeply to lower than 10deg Celsius. Yet, in the biting cold and darkest of nights, we celebrate Christmas in Wolmyeong Dong with the Holy Son with christmas lights across the Holy Land!
